Regional News.....

12 / 02 / 2008

(Overview...)

The first meeting at the new venue began with all the current committee stepping down as required and leaving each position open for members to stand/vote for their new committee.  The New Committee stands as above.

John Warrington stepped down as Chairman for the region & indicated that he will not be standing for the position again at this time, Steve Barton Stood for Chairman in his stead. Tim williams also stepped down as Secretary & also will not stand again for the position at this time.  There is currently a vacant committee position as secretary should any members wish to put their name forward and stand. Chris, Geoff and Myself stood again for our current positions.  The committee as it now stands was then Proposed, Seconded and voted in by members present.

On behalf of the Welsh Region I would like to thank John & Tim for all their efforts and hard work for the region, a sterling job done guys. The region also welcomes Steve Barton as the new chairman and wish him every success in his endevours.

Club Funds were also re-discussed and the notion to abolish subs altogether in favour of raising funds via raffles & promotions once again was suggested and agreed upon.

11 / 12 / 2007

In order for the regions finances to run smoothly a notion to change the way club funds are raised was Proposed by John Warrington (Chairman), Seconded by Marc & voted & decided upon by majority of all present members that regional funds of £60 for field meets will be paid in march of each year as oppose to the normal £5 collection at each monthly meeting.  This was decided to ensure that should members be absent from the meetings for whatever reason the club funds that subsedise all our regions sport in season are not adversely affected.

( UPDATE - Since this meeting a committee meeting has been held and the issue of club funds and the manner in which they are raised will be up for disscussion again to allow non present members a chance to voice their opinions. )

Grand Auction & Legendary

Welsh Region Summer Sizzler

BBQ

Well this years Summer Sizzler BBQ held on Sat 4th August at the buck was enjoyed by all.  Although not as lucrative for the region as last year...still, ample funds were raised and there was still plenty of good spirits and a respectable turnout, coupled with all the usual faces made the auction go with the customary bravado and humour provided by master auctioneers Steve and Tim lol.  Who did end up with that bronze BOP hood ornament... sorry.... statue guys?? ;) also not forgetting our new member Jackie who walked away with a gift of the highly sought after framed prints!! lol courtesy of Steve, Tim & John.

So, that's it for another year, but next year's not too far away.... and we have a promising season ahead of us!

So on behalf of the Welsh Region I wish you all a successful coming season with your charges.

 Happy Hawking! - Stu.

For Sale

The Dam Dalriach Dailuaine

Steve Gouldthorpe (ex 'the Austringer' editor) will have a litter of 8 Week Old Irish Red and White Setter pups for sale at the end of March.

Both parents work and are from excellent field trial and show champion stock.  The dam's mother is currently the only International Field Trial Champion in the breed.  The dam works extremely well under falcons and is well proven with pheasant, partridge, grouse, woodcock and snipe.

The Irish Red & Whites are the original breed from which all Red and all English Setters are derived.  They are quick learners, respond well during training and make good field dogs as well as good house dogs.

Please feel free to Call or E-Mail Steve;

Field Meets.....

With the 06/07 Season now at an end and preperations for the moult now in place.  We would like to thank all who have supported us & attended this season's field/monthly meets and to those who organised and arranged them making them enjoyable for all.

May you all have a speedy, feather-perfect moult & breeding season!

----------------------------------------------

2007/2008 Field Meets

We continue to be a hard-core hunting region, with field meets being a top priority.

To obtain further information regarding next seasons field meets/events you are requested to come along and support your region at the monthly meetings at the Buck, as some field meets are announced at short notice, we also need your support financially! (you get out of life what you put in...).  As all funds raised at the monthly meets, raffles, auction night, are ploughed straight back into the region which ensures discounted and more frequent field meets.  A current Game Licence is required and telemetry is compulsory (a working transmitter being the minimum requirement).  It also goes without saying that a smart standard of dress is expected at all field meets to maintain the highest standard possible in the sporting field.  Should you require any information or have any questions you can contact Steve Barton on barton@chapelfalcon.fsnet.co.uk
