For the latest advice please see the DEFRA website www.defra.gov.uk/footandmouth/
Current advice from DEFRA is that Falconry can continue as normal outside the Protected and Surveillance Zones.
If you are going hawking please consider this additional advice:
1. Always check that the occupier agrees to hawking taking place on his land.
2. Follow biosecurity advice given to you by individual farmers.
3. Avoid contact with enclosed farmstock or areas where livestock have recently been held.
4.Before arriving at a farm ensure that your clothes/shoes are not muddy and any vehicle to be taken on to a farm has been washed in particular the wheel arches.
5. Park away from any farm livestock
6. If tracking lost hawks be aware of potential problems and keep farmers informed of your actions/movements.
